CAPTURE THE CAPE:
Roblox Game Creation

Collage of three superhero characters: a video game character with fire hair and glowing weapon standing before a castle at sunset, a realistic Batman figure outdoors in a city, and a person wearing a Spiderman suit with a red and black pattern.

The Pitch

It's not every day you get to pitch video game ideas. I was one of 10 gamers in the agency pitching ideas – and my idea made it through. After some finessing of the overall concept and multiple rounds of working through the game narrative and visual direction, Capture The Cape went into development.

A lot of work went into this by a lot of talented people based off an idea to make our own video game. From game concept and narrative to weapon and cape brainstorms to playtesting and livestream competitions, being a part of this whole process was a blast.

The Powers

This competitive multiplayer game pits 6-12 players against each other to capture the cape and survive the longest. Each cape has unique powers for one player. There are also special items to pick up that give temporary power-ups to the other players in the arena in an effort to knock the cape off.

The Play

In Capture the Cape, you must find a cape and wear it longer than anyone else. While donned, this cape imbues you with superpowers that make you stand out. The catch: everyone wants to wear the cape too. And they’re going to fight you for it.
